John 7:16, 17 NLT

68. Those who speak for themselves want glory only for themselves, but a person who seeks to honor the one who sent him speaks truth, not lies.
John 7:18 NLT

69. Look beneath the surface so you can judge correctly.”
John 7:24 NLT

70. While Jesus was teaching in the Temple, he called out, “Yes, you know me, and you know where I come from. But I’m not here on my own. The one who sent me is true, and you don’t know him. But I know him because I come from him, and he sent me to you.”
John 7:28, 29 NLT

71. But Jesus told them, “I will be with you only a little longer. Then I will return to the one who sent me. You will search for me but not find me. And you cannot go where I am going.”
John 7:33, 34 NLT

72. On the last day, the climax of the festival, Jesus stood and shouted to the crowds, “Anyone who is thirsty may come to me! Anyone who believes in me may come and drink! For the Scriptures declare, `Rivers of living water will flow from his heart.’”
John 7:37, 38 NLT

73. Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.”
John 8:12 NLT

74. You judge me by human standards, but I do not judge anyone. And if I did, my judgment would be correct in every respect because I am not alone. The Father who sent me is with me. Your own law says that if two people agree about something, their witness is accepted as fact. I am one witness, and my Father who sent me is the other.”
John 8:15-18 NLT

75. “Where is your father?” they asked.
Jesus answered, “Since you don’t know who I am, you don’t know who my Father is. If you knew me, you would also know my Father.”
John 8:19 NLT

76. Later Jesus said to them again, “I am going away. You will search for me but will die in your sin. You cannot come where I am going.”
John 8:21 NLT

77. Jesus continued, “You are from below; I am from above. You belong to this world; I do not. That is why I said that you will die in your sins; for unless you believe that I AM who I claim to be, you will die in your sins.”
John 8:23, 24 NLT

78. “Who are you?” they demanded.
Jesus replied, “The one I have always claimed to be. I have much to say about you and much to condemn, but I won’t. For I say only what I have heard from the one who sent me, and he is completely truthful.”
John 8:25, 26 NLT

79. So Jesus said, “When you have lifted up the Son of Man on the cross, then you will understand that I AM he. I do nothing on my own but say only what the Father taught me. And the one who sent me is with me—he has not deserted me. For I always do what pleases him.”
John 8:28, 29 NLT

80. Jesus said to the people who believed in him, “You are truly my disciples if you remain faithful to my teachings. And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

The book of Acts
1. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
Acts 1:8 NLT

2. Jesus has been taken from you into heaven, but someday he will return from heaven in the same way you saw him go!”
Acts 1:11 NLT

3. Moses said, `The Lord your God will raise up for you a Prophet like me from among your own people. Listen carefully to everything he tells you.’ Then Moses said, `Anyone who will not listen to that Prophet will be completely cut off from God’s people.’
Acts 3:22, 23

4. When God raised up his servant, Jesus, he sent him first to you people of Israel, to bless you by turning each of you back from your sinful ways.”
Acts 3:26 NLT

5. There is salvation in no one else! God has given no other name under heaven by which we must be saved.”

9. “The Holy Spirit was right when he said to your ancestors through Isaiah the prophet, `Go and say to this people: When you hear what I say, you will not understand. When you see what I do, you will not comprehend. For the hearts of these people are hardened, and their ears cannot hear, and they have closed their eyes—so their eyes cannot see, and their ears cannot hear, and their hearts cannot understand, and they cannot turn to me and let me heal them.’
Acts 28:25-27 NLT

The Book of Romans
1. God promised this Good News long ago through his prophets in the holy Scriptures. The Good News is about his Son. In his earthly life he was born into King David’s family line, and he was shown to be the Son of God when he was raised from the dead by the power of the Holy Spirit. He is Jesus Christ our Lord. Through Christ, God has given us the privilege and authority as apostles to tell Gentiles everywhere what God has done for them, so that they will believe and obey him, bringing glory to his name.
Romans 1:2-5 NLT

2. For I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ. It is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes—the Jew first and also the Gentile.
Romans 1:16 NLT

3. This Good News tells us how God makes us right in his sight. This is accomplished from start to finish by faith. As the Scriptures say, “It is through faith that a righteous person has life.”
Romans 1:17 NLT

4. But God shows his anger from heaven against all sinful, wicked people who suppress the truth by their wickedness.
Romans 1:18 NLT

5. You may think you can condemn such people, but you are just as bad, and you have no excuse! When you say they are wicked and should be punished, you are condemning yourself, for you who judge others do these very same things. There will be trouble and calamity for everyone who keeps on doing what is evil—for the Jew first and also for the Gentile.
Romans 2:1, 9 NLT

6. Since you judge others for doing these things, why do you think you can avoid God’s judgment when you do the same things?
Romans 2:3 NLT

7. Don’t you see how wonderfully kind, tolerant, and patient God is with you? Does this mean nothing to you? Can’t you see that his kindness is intended to turn you from your sin?
Romans 2:4 NLT

8. He will give eternal life to those who keep on doing good, seeking after the glory and honor and immortality that God offers.
Romans 2:7 NLT

9. He will give eternal life to those who keep on doing good, seeking after the glory and honor and immortality that God offers. But he will pour out his anger and wrath on those who live for themselves, who refuse to obey the truth and instead live lives of wickedness.
Romans 2:7-8 NLT

10. For merely listening to the law doesn’t make us right with God. It is obeying the law that makes us right in his sight.
Romans 2:13 NLT

11. Even Gentiles, who do not have God’s written law, show that they know his law when they instinctively obey it, even without having heard it.
Romans 2:14 NLT

12. Even Gentiles, who do not have God’s written law, show that they know his law when they instinctively obey it, even without having heard it. They demonstrate that God’s law is written in their hearts, for their own conscience and thoughts either accuse them or tell them they are doing right.
Romans 2:14, 15 NLT

13. And this is the message I proclaim—that the day is coming when God, through Christ Jesus, will judge everyone’s secret life.
Romans 2:16 NLT

14. Even if everyone else is a liar, God is true. As the Scriptures say about him, “You will be proved right in what you say, and you will win your case in court.”
Romans 3:4 NLT

15. But now God has shown us a way to be made right with him without keeping the requirements of the law, as was promised in the writings of Moses and the prophets long ago. We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are.
Romans 3:21, 22 NLT

16. For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Yet God, with undeserved kindness, declares that we are righteous. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins.
Romans 3:23, 24 NLT

17. For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed his life, shedding his blood. This sacrifice shows that God was being fair when he held back and did not punish those who sinned in times past, for he was looking ahead and including them in what he would do in this present time. God did this to demonstrate his righteousness, for he himself is fair and just, and he declares sinners to be right in his sight when they believe in Jesus.
Romans 3:25, 26 NLT

18. Can we boast, then, that we have done anything to be accepted by God? No, because our acquittal is not based on obeying the law. It is based on faith. So we are made right with God through faith and not by obeying the law.
Romans 3:27, 28 NLT

19. So we are made right with God through faith and not by obeying the law.
Romans 3:28 NLT

20. There is only one God, and he makes people right with himself only by faith, whether they are Jews or Gentiles.
Romans 3:30 NLT

21. Well then, if we emphasize faith, does this mean that we can forget about the law? Of course not! In fact, only when we have faith do we truly fulfill the law.
Romans 3:31 NLT

22. For the Scriptures tell us, “Abraham believed God, and God counted him as righteous because of his faith.”
Romans 4:3 NLT

23. When people work, their wages are not a gift, but something they have earned. But people are counted as righteous, not because of their work, but because of their faith in God who forgives sinners. David also spoke of this when he described the happiness of those who are declared righteous without working for it:
Romans 4:4-6 NLT

24. “Oh, what joy for those whose disobedience is forgiven, whose sins are put out of sight.
Romans 4:7 NLT

25. Yes, what joy for those whose record the Lord has cleared of sin.”
Romans 4:8 NLT

26. “Oh, what joy for those whose disobedience is forgiven, whose sins are put out of sight. Yes, what joy for those whose record the Lord has cleared of sin.”
Romans 4:7, 8 NLT

27. Clearly, God’s promise to give the whole earth to Abraham and his descendants was based not on his obedience to God’s law, but on a right relationship with God that comes by faith.
Romans 4:13 NLT

28. If God’s promise is only for those who obey the law, then faith is not necessary and the promise is pointless.
Romans 4:14 NLT

29. So the promise is received by faith. It is given as a free gift. And we are all certain to receive it, whether or not we live according to the law of Moses, if we have faith like Abraham’s. For Abraham is the father of all who believe.
Romans 4:16 NLT

30. Abraham never wavered in believing God’s promise. In fact, his faith grew stronger, and in this he brought glory to God.
Romans 4:20 NLT

2 Samuel 7:28 NLT

4. For you have spoken, and when you grant a blessing to your servant, O Sovereign Lord , it is an eternal blessing!”
2 Samuel 7:29 NLT

5. Be courageous! Let us fight bravely for our people and the cities of our God. May the Lord ‘s will be done.”
2 Samuel 10:12 NLT

6. All of us must die eventually. Our lives are like water spilled out on the ground, which cannot be gathered up again. But God does not just sweep life away; instead, he devises ways to bring us back when we have been separated from him.
2 Samuel 14:14 NLT
